DESCRIPTION:James “Mudkat” Grant began listening to rock n roll\, classical\, and country music at an early age. He joined his first band in high school after seeing the Beatles on TV\, extending it through college years playing hundreds and hundreds of gigs. Having the opportunity to open for the Flying Burrito Brothers in May\, 1970\, changed their repertoire and musical direction. The band\, now called North Country\, moved to Denver\, where they opened for the comedian Steve Martin\, but within a year the band had broken up\, so Grant moved into doing solo work with vocal\, guitar and harmonica.Recording his first CD in ’95\, “Not the Only World”\, which was nominated for a Minnesota Music Award\, James continued writing and performing in the upper midwest with occasional forays with other musicians. “This Town”\, an EP\, with This Town\, the title cut\, Southern View\, Distant Light\, and Something New\, was recorded in 2013\, with other songs waiting for studio production.James Grant has been heavily influenced in his writing style by Sting\, Neil Young\, Dylan\, James Taylor and others\, along with environmental and social justice issues. His passion for writing and performing\, with guitar and vocal study\, has continued to this day.This very early member of the Organic Music Cooperative delivers reflective originals and digs deep for obscure tracks that need to be shared and brought back to life.$5 cover per adult listener gives you three hours of fantastic music!

DESCRIPTION:Usually when folks describe JJ Slater’s music\, words relate back to nature\, the outdoors\, the warm sun and the cool breeze. His UMASS Amherst psych-rock band Humble Digs was a mainstay at Stockbridge School of Agriculture events\, and ten years later tours are often routed with ulterior\, National Park-related motives.\nBased in New England\, he has toured much of the US\, playing festivals\, basements\, and club gigs\, at times opening for artists like Kat Wright\, NRBQ\, Johnny A\, and David Wax Museum. In 2022\, he completed a residency at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation\, where he wrote his new record “The Silver Key”. It was recorded with a Mass Cultural Council grant in 2023\, released at the end of 2024\, and you’ll find him touring and playing the full record in 2025. He’ll also be touring with his Americana-Blues road-dog project Signature Dish\, co-fronting the band with partner Lexi Weege and lending his songs to a dynamic\, soul-journey set.\nIn between rock bands\, funk jams\, and jazz brunches\, JJ’s guitar playing is always centered and relentlessly rhythmic\, with lead work that quotes both gutsy blues and celestial jazz. His songwriting is playful\, with an ability to write a catchy hook and chorus\, but take you down a minute-long rabbit hole with a wink and a grin- all with a soft\, smoky approach to singing that recalls a burn ride with an old friend.See you Sunday! DESCRIPTION:James “Mudkat” Grant began listening to rock n roll\, classical\, and country music at an early age. He joined his first band in high school after seeing the Beatles on TV\, extending it through college years playing hundreds and hundreds of gigs. Having the opportunity to open for the Flying Burrito Brothers in May\, 1970\, changed their repertoire and musical direction. The band\, now called North Country\, moved to Denver\, where they opened for the comedian Steve Martin\, but within a year the band had broken up\, so Grant moved into doing solo work with vocal\, guitar and harmonica.Recording his first CD in ’95\, “Not the Only World”\, which was nominated for a Minnesota Music Award\, James continued writing and performing in the upper midwest with occasional forays with other musicians. “This Town”\, an EP\, with This Town \, the title cut\, Southern View\, Distant Light\, and Something New\, was recorded in 2013\, with other songs waiting for studio production.James Grant has been heavily influenced in his writing style by Sting\, Neil Young\, Dylan\, James Taylor and others\, along with environmental and social justice issues. DESCRIPTION:From the Musician- \nI’m a Missourian\, an enthusiastic dancer\, and a singer-songwriter. In the last year we’ve played over 200 shows from The Basement in Nashville to The Mercury Lounge in Tulsa\, The Blue Note Theatre in Columbia and Jack’s Shack in Tightwad. As a writer and storyteller\, I pride myself on an engaging live performance\, through stories and side notes\, that allows folks into the world that my songs live in. One of the compliments that I carry in my back pocket was along the lines of having the showmanship of Todd Snider\, the songwriting of John Prine and the rowdy-raspiness of Ryan Bingham. I recorded my debut album with the great Wes Sharon of 115 Recording (Turnpike Troubadours\, John Fullbright\, Parker Millsap if you’re hip to those Americana studs) which was released in 2022 and has received positive reviews from writers on the west coast\, east coast and across the pond. Additionally\, we were invited to Los Angeles to meet with the music supervisor of Yellowstone to write/sing songs to be used on the show (as well as other projects directed by Taylor Sheridan). We recorded my Sophomore album in Tulsa this summer. We are asking for a minimum of $5 per adult listener to keep the band on the road\, sharing their music across the land
