DESCRIPTION:Winona Is Dead and The Trempealeau Hotel present “Fire On The Water”\nA summer evening of community\, dancing\, food\, vending and of course Grateful Dead music along the banks of the great Mississippi River.Join us for a night of music played by Winona Is Dead which consists of touring musicians who have all made their home in beautiful Winona\, MN. The band features Mike Munson (Mike Munson Trio) and Kyle Gruhlke (Jackie Treehorn and the Malibu Sheriffs) on guitar duties\, with Scotty Lochner (The People Brothers Band) on bass guitar\, Jake Allen (Texas Toast) on drums and Dante DeGrazia (Sleeping Jesus) on pianos and organ. The band will curate different set-lists of The Grateful Dead’s repertoire filled with improvisation and fueled by their own musical tastes and influences. We absolutely love when the stars align with all of our schedules and we get to play these tunes.\nIn the spirit of The Grateful Dead and the scene they famously created we will have Food\, Art\, Jewelry and Clothing vendors onsite to share their craft with us all.\nGrab your tickets in person at The Trempealeau Hotel or online. First 200 are $15 in person or online (plus the eventbrite fees). Price is $20 after. Day of show admission is $25\, and depends on availability.Gates open at 6pm. Show starts at 7pm. This is an outdoor\, rain or shine event.\nRooms are for rent at The Hotel as well as Inn on the River\, Little Bluff Inn and various short term rentals. DESCRIPTION:Cedar County Cobras arrive with an upright bass\, foot drum\, and several guitars to play American Roots & Blues music from the last century. The music takes on an “old time” blues feel that would most likely be found in a juke-joint down a gravel road in rural Iowa. They have played over 800 shows at venues from the small-town dive bar to the festival stage. In 2023\, the duo released their debut album “Homesick Blues” which has been charting worldwide and placed in the top acoustic blues records of 2024. They are the winners of the solo/duo category for the Iowa Blues Challenge and recently placed as semi-finalists at the 2025 International Blues Festival in Memphis.This is their FIRST TIME to the Hotel. He’s truly one of those players who lives in harmony with his instrument. DESCRIPTION:Sophie Coyote is a singer/songwriter from the small mid-western town of Waddams Grove\, Illinois. Born in an old farm house surrounded by rolling fields. She was raised on a broad range of musical influences that includeclassic rock & roll\, honky-tonk country and a bit of blues. This open mind of influence has led to a songwriting style that is reminiscent of the raw and honest age of music; lyrically driven with interesting stories\, unique twists and word-play.\nIn March of 2022 she released a live recorded E.P. titled “Indigo Child” featuring 6 of her original songs. The E.P. was recorded on a small microphone with raw\, single-take acoustic tracks showcasing the bare-bones of Sophie’s songwriting talents as well as her unique vocal stylings. The E.P. propelled her into the regional music scene with a full schedule of performance dates around and throughout the Midwest.Grand Rapids\, MI is where Sophie’s first full production song titled\, “Venom” came to fruition. Showcasing producer Mark Lavengood’s talent on guitar\, bass\, mandolin & piano. The haunting fiddle was performed by Nashville\, TN country artist Lillie Mae. Drums by Cassady Feasby of the Dierks Bentely band. With producer Misa Arriaga\, Sophie went on to make her recently released single “Coyote Queen.” Featuring six talented Nashville musicians\, as well as some howling coyotes.This is her first time here at The Hotel. DESCRIPTION:Our monthly Musical Chairs is a showcase for original music created and curated by Tim Eddy. This month it features Kris Risch\, James ‘Mudkat’ Grant and Hans Reimer.Risch is a local singer songwriter that plays music because it brings him joy. He has played in a few collaborations including The Pinch Hitters and with the recently formed Substitutes. He also plays in a duo with his wife Lisa. He has published one CD and was a winner of the Larryfest songwriters competition in 2017. He is a founding member and regular participant of the Organic Music Cooperative which gathers every other Tuesday at the Historic Trempealeau Hotel. He is especially excited to join his OMC comrades\, James “Mudkat” Grant and Hansel Reimer in this Saturday’s Songwriter Showcase at the Hotel. “I’ve played with these guys a bunch over the Years at the OMC and greatly respect and enjoy the passion they bring to their music. It will be a treat to share the stage with these two. ” Hope to see some old friends and meet some new ones too.James “Mudkat” Grant began listening to rock n roll\, classical\, and country music at an early age. He joined his first band in high school after seeing the Beatles on TV\, extending it through college years playing hundreds and hundreds of gigs. Having the opportunity to open for the Flying Burrito Brothers in May\, 1970\, changed their repertoire and musical direction. The band\, now called North Country\, moved to Denver\, where they opened for the comedian Steve Martin\, but within a year the band had broken up\, so Grant moved into doing solo work with vocal\, guitar and harmonica.Recording his first CD in ’95\, “Not the Only World”\, which was nominated for a Minnesota Music Award\, James continued writing and performing in the upper midwest with occasional forays with other musicians. “This Town”\, an EP\, with This Town \, the title cut\, Southern View\, Distant Light\, and Something New\, was recorded in 2013\, with other songs waiting for studio production.James Grant has been heavily influenced in his writing style by Sting\, Neil Young\, Dylan\, James Taylor and others\, along with environmental and social justice issues. His passion for writing and performing\, with guitar and vocal study\, has continued to this day.This very early member of the Organic Music Cooperative delivers reflective originals and digs deep for obscure tracks that need to be shared and brought back to life.Hans Reimer was born right here in Trempealeau county\, was homeschooled and started playing music at a very young age. The family band began first with his parents then later with his siblings. They even backpacked through Europe\, playing music and writing songs for two months. Now\, 20 years later he is still writing songs and playing music. ‘I love music. I love life\, I love jamming and connecting with people through music. I probably have written hundreds of songs but I can only remember the good ones and I am excited to share them with you!!’These three will take turns playing their originals. No cover. DESCRIPTION:Marques Morel is an American songwriter/story-teller\, midwestern-twanger/folksinger\, guitar-thumper/harmonica wailer\, street-performer/wandering troubadour\, steadfast woodcutter/migrant worker\, a father\, a son\, and a friend to all.“Taking his cue from the likes of Townes Van Zandt\, Woody Guthrie\, Hank Williams\, and any number of other tattered troubadours\, (Marques Morel) sounds like a cross between Johnny Cash\, Bob Seger\, and the late John Stewart (solo\, The Kingston Trio) reciting ragged tales of the American West and its once-former glories\,” writes Lee Zimmerman of The Alternate Root.Originally from the Illinois corn country\, he has performed just about anywhere that anybody would listen: big city street corners around the world\, county fairs\, folk festivals\, hole in the wall taverns/divebars/honky tonks\, cabin porches\, backyard barbeques\, listening rooms\, theatres large and small\, and beside many campfires and woodstoves amongst the ghosts of his songwriter heroes.Marques has had the honor of sharing stages with some of the great songsters of our time- Charlie Parr\, Arlo McKinley\, Joe Pug\, Willy Tea Taylor\, Riley Downing\, Billy Don Burns\, Pokey LaFarge\, and Chicago Farmer to name a few of his favorites.Marques has released five original albums to date: “Live and Raw in Rockford” (2013) and “Searching for America” (2014) were recorded bare bones with passion before his hiatus from solo work for about 6 years. DESCRIPTION:After performances at LarryFest in 2025 and 2026\, Nashville-based bluegrass Americana artist Pat Sheridan plays the Trempealeau Hotel.\nFrom mountaintop farms and horse barns to sold-out stages and recording studios\, Pat Sheridan has had quite the journey as a burgeoning young musician. Pat is a husband\, teacher\, band-leader\, and most recently\, a recording artist successfully releasing his debut album\, Trials & Errors. Inspired by his time as a green and eager musician in western North Carolina\, the album blends classic honky-tonk sounds with bluegrass in an earnest stamp on his home’s musical tradition. The album spans his time organic farming\, touring nationally as a guitar sideman\, marrying his best friend\, and all the “trials and mostly errors” along the way.\nIn 2025\, Pat started Uptown Appalachia\, a popular western NC bluegrass wedding band with his wife\, Claire\, and producer\, Michael Dunham. His live shows are honest and feel more like a family reunion\, where he is often joined by Claire\, Michael\, and his father\, Rob\, on harmonica. After calling the Blue Ridge Mountains home for 10 years\, Pat has made the move to Nashville\, where he is currently writing\, recording\, and touring with the many artists that reside in Music City.\nThe hat will be passed. Since then she has released multiple highly critically acclaimed albums\, EPs and singles\, with much attention being paid not only to her distinct sound and style\, but also the power of her singing and songwriting\, including fan favorite\, Paradise Outlaw\, which Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon has called his “favorite recording made at our studio.”Brown has toured worldwide with artists such as John Prine\, Amos Lee\, Brandi Carlisle\, JJ Cale\, Ani Difranco\, Mavis Staples\, and Calexico among others. They exchanged tunes that night and began their life long musical journey.\nThey have spent a lifetime touring\, living most of their married life on the road. They have shared the stage with John Lee Hooker\, Willie Dixon\, Honey Boy Edwards and many more. They have been regular performers at Buddy Guy’s Legends. Weather playing a bar\, a concert stage or a festival their warmth and humor draw the audience in to make everyone feel like they’re at a party with all their best friends.\nIowa blues legends Joe and Vicki Price sound like two guitars being played by a single\, unified mind – with tone that would make Hound Dog Taylor blush.
