SUMMARY:The Driftless Revelers
DESCRIPTION:The Driftless Revelers gather for an Equinox celebration and down home freak folk at this gem on the Mississippi — the Trempealeau Hotel!\n“Scrappy string-based freak-folk\, featuring songs like ‘Meat Raffle Mambo\,’ ‘Wisconsin Saturday Nights’ and ‘Jesus Shaves’ that both revere and good-naturedly poke fun at state culture — [The Driftless Revelers] may remind listeners of Lou and Peter Berryman or even the old Free Hot Lunch! band.”–Isthmus Magazine\, Madison\, WI.\n”It’s a little ‘out there’: Driftless Revelers release American Fork Standards –Volume One Magazine\, Eau Claire\n“Jack Black ran so these guys could stumble”— Ron\, Announcer at Sol Grass Music Festival 2024\nThe Driftless Revelers formed in the second spring of the first global pandemic of the 21st century\, with one ear turned toward the shellac platters and Victrola virtuosos of the early to mid 20th century\, and the other ear glued to the soundscapes of the 1960’s & 1970’s American freak-folk scene.\nSince their debut tour in 2021\, the band has billed with Grammy & IBMA winning bluegrass legends like Tim O’Brien\, the Gibson Brothers\, & Larry Stephenson\, and toured extensively throughout the upper Midwest & West coast performing with other amazing artists like Big Richard\, The Stillhouse Junkies\, Willy Tea Taylor\, The Pine Box Boys\, The Montvales\, Joseph Huber\, Davey Allen & the Midnights\, Dig Deep\, and had breakout performances at several festivals and events (The Good Luck Campout\, The Sol Grass Music Festival\, Flatrock Bluegrass Jamboree\, Mile of Music in Appleton\, WI. featured in Rolling Stone Magazine\, & The Midsummer in the Northwoods Bluegrass Festival).\nThese Eau Claire\, Wisconsin based weirdos have earned a cult following of devoted fans who appreciate their irreverent\, highly original\, and sometimes slightly psychedelic interpretation of American roots music with a Midwest twist. Their live show banter and thoroughly entertaining sets have earned them comparisons to Ween\, Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show\, They Might be Giants\, Tenacious D\, Cheech & Chong\, and the Holy Modal Rounders. Their debut record\, American Fork Standards (2022)\, was well received by their family members\, and a few other people who said nice things about it. Their second release Live at the Slowpoke Lounge & Cabaret (2024) captures the band’s deadpan comedy and musical chops in a lounge environment that demands a proper listen in a leisure suit with a scotch & Pall Mall. Their third album\, In the Kitchen with the Driftless Revelers\, (2025)\, is the perfect listening experience to whet your sonic appetite or amplify your psychotropic induced munchies. It’s also good for post-feast couch sweats\, and the ritualistic loosening of the belt — and more importantly\, it’s the first record they toured nationally on.\nFeaturing the original songwriting of Ben Nelson\, Matthew R. Sayles\, and Jerod Kaszynski\, the Driftless Revelers will pleasure a crowd with plectral wah pedal banjo tones\, the mournful wailing of resophonic steel guitars\, and the up-right bass bellows of an era that can’t quite be defined\, but revels in the timeless ephemera of weird old-time American music.\nWith influences as varied and eccentric as a proper musty smelling thrift store record collection\, the band grooves merrily through early roots blues and jazz music\, to hillbilly and string band howlers\, all the way into the not-quite folk but not-quite psychedelic realms of their own creation.\nA Driftless Revelers show will lure you in with their joy–keep you dancing with their search for the cosmic groove in the confines of stringed instruments–and will send you on your way with flashbacks of the Driftless Revelry found only in the essence of the intangible reaches of notes once played– that then fall silent.\nThese boys are highly entertaining. Listeners are sure to question what they hear at times\, and laugh when they put it together. Songs like ‘Meat Raffle Mambo’ and ‘Get Naked\, Drink Beer’ give you an idea of what to expect.\nPlease bring cash money. $6 minimum cover per adult listener. All money goes to the band to keep them on the road.\nRooms range in price from $60-$160. Call 608 534 6898 to make a weekend of it!\nhttps://www.philvillerecords.com/thedriftlessrevelers

SUMMARY:Dylan Harris & Good Company
DESCRIPTION:In Wisconsin’s Kickapoo Valley where he makes his home\, sometimes people smile and say that Dylan Harris is the hardest working man in show business. That might be a stretch\, but they still call him “the Ed Sullivan of the Driftless”. He’s a singing-guitarist and songwriter who likes to whistle while he works and he has a knack for delivering the music of others in his own recognizable voice. Dylan is well loved for hosting a circuit of open mics & jam sessions that are staples for the music community in the central Driftless. He has released four studio albums as Dylan Harris & Good Company\, with a live album on the way THIS year. All of that to say…cha cha cha! And let the good times roll! Please bring cash for the hat to keep these guys doing what they are doing.

SUMMARY:Clay Fulton
DESCRIPTION:Clay Fulton is a singer-songwriter from Rochester\, Minnesota. His debut album When Trouble Comes has been a long time coming. Songs like “Walls Of St. Paul” and “When Trouble Comes” were written while studying at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul\, Minnesota before coming home to help run the family restaurant. While buried in the business that is owning a restaurant\, he found time to play live music and create songs like “Down On Broadway” that tell of the late nights that follow a long day of work\, and the winding down that takes place afterwards. Using the peaceful vessel of a long drive\, Clay gracefully takes us through his journey showcasing the importance of family and relationships in his more recent songs “Show Me State” and “Call My Bluff”. Clay has a knack for writing clever and simple lines that are both approachable and memorable. We experience that first hand in the song “28 Days”. This album takes us back to the great American folk singers of yesteryear with a modern indie-pop twist; think John Prine meets Dawes. When Trouble Comes balances smart story-telling with serious but playful musical arrangements to support them. Clay definitely wants you to feel the angst\, frustration and grit of the ups and downs of love and life\, all while leaving you with a sign of hope. He’s on the road solo while the ‘Lost 40’ band are getting ready for a busy outdoor concert season.$5 or more cover per listener with all money collected going directly to the artist. Hugs and kisses!

SUMMARY:Carriage House & Kelley Smith
DESCRIPTION:These talented\, regional artists share the evening bringing with them many original songs\, raw emotion and warmth. Stories of how their songs came to be\, bring a deeper understanding and connection to the words and the music.About the artists:Kelley SmithMinnesota songwriter Kelley Smith is a wallflower who fancies old poetry and grandpa sweaters. All at once whimsical and haunting\, Smith delivers deeply affecting lyrics with wry charm and a time traveler’s voice. Prone to melancholy and daydreaming\, Kelley spent her childhood roaming the woods of the north country. To this day\, her longing for that landscape runs deep and seems to find its way into her songs in one way or another. ”In its truest form\, folk music requires us to slow down\, listen closely\, and let ourselves be absorbed by stories that take us to another place and time. These organic and unvarnished songs reflect life experiences that could as easily come from past lives as they could from Kelley’s soul.” – David Dennison\, Rieder Homestead Concerts\nCarriage House is a husband and wife folk/americana duo originally out of Indianapolis and now living in the driftless region of Minnesota after having toured nationwide in their converted van. They released their first album ‘Further From Our Youth’ on the eve of their Spring tour in 2021. Jeff has been a songwriter and musician for a number of years\, both solo and with his full band ‘Jeff Kelly and the Graveyard Shift’\, and Jenna has always had an ear for harmonies. Combining their strengths they picked up the guitar and banjo and started writing and sharing some songs about love\, longing\, and pandemic times.\nWe ask for a minimum of $6 per adult listener with all money collected going to the artists.

SUMMARY:Matthew R. Sayles & Wyatt Thompson
DESCRIPTION:Heading down to the iconic Trempealeau Hotel on the banks of the Mississippi for a Saturday Night duo show with Wyatt Thomson! Come enjoy a pint and some fine tunes and excellent food.\n“Clever songwriting alongside rearranged classics– a throwback style that knows good\, old-fashioned storytelling…yet is utterly unpretentious about modernity.”–The Source\, Bend\, Oregon\nMatthew R. Sayles is a singer-songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and founder of Philville Records\, an independent label he formed in 2000 in Marquette\, Michigan (you might also recognize him as the eccentric frontman of Eau Claire’s\, the Driftless Revelers).\nSayles has toured nationally and internationally\, and has had the honor of performing with country\, bluegrass\, and western swing legends like Merle Haggard\, Dwight Yoakam\, Asleep at the Wheel\, Larry Sparks\, Doyle Lawson\, the Duhks\, Uncle Earl\, Hot Club of Cowtown\, members of Bob Dylan’s “Rolling Thunder Review” and a long list of other highly talented regional and national roots music performers.\nSayles’s solo performances bounce from up tempo electric guitar-picked roots country\, early rock & roll\, roadhouse blues\, Americana ballads\, and bluegrass\, to north African-inspired instrumental pieces on five string banjo and south American-infused arrangements on the Andean ten-stringed Charango.\nAn accomplished songwriter\, story-teller\, and performer with a deep interest in the history of American roots music\, Sayles’s live performances evoke a modern interpretation of the coffee house shows of the 1950s and 60s\, while still keeping one foot grounded in the beer halls\, honky-tonks\, and night clubs of the recent past and present.\nhttps://www.philvillerecords.com/matthew-r-sayles-press-kit\n\nWyatt Thomson Bio:\nWyatt Thomson possesses a voice that echos the soundscapes of the dance halls\, supper clubs\, and road houses that still litter the landscape of his home in the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin.\nCiting Tom Waits as his biggest influence\, it’s safe to say that Thomson (Like Waits) seems to have skipped right over decades of music that might have otherwise changed his sound for the worst.\nOne of Thomson’s biggest appeals is that he sounds like an artist transported from the 1950’s honky tonks of the Midwest\, and dropped off into the second decade of the 21st century unscathed by the worst aspects of pop country\, pop music\, and an industry forever changed by technology.\nNot unlike a character from a Roger Miller song\, Thomson has the bona fides of working pawn shops\, odd jobs\, and scraping by in the rust belt landscape of NW Wisconsin. As a result\, he’s gained the street wise and cynical wisdom that is earned young from such a life.\nThe world may press onward with its insane pace\, but Thomson ambles along with a casual confidence and story telling tales that feel like they’re ripped from old paperbacks in a truck stop\, or found in some lost postwar beatnik manuscript.\nhttps://www.philvillerecords.com/wyattthomson\nSad Records & Country Tunes Voted #2 Best New Album 2024:https://volumeone.org/…/15199-best-local-album-released…\nVoted Best New Artist in the Chippewa Valley 2023:https://volumeone.org/…/472/questions/12385-best-new-band

Clay definitely wants you to feel the angst\, frustration and grit of the ups and downs of love and life\, all while leaving you with a sign of hope.$5 or more cover per listener with all money collected going directly to the artist. Hugs and kisses!

SUMMARY:Eric Tessemer
DESCRIPTION:Eric Tessmer returns to Wisconsin from Texas for the holidays – and for a solo performance at the Trempealeau Hotel. Voted best guitarist in Austin\, TX 2017\, Tessmer’s solo performances are not to be missed!Tessmer’s songwriting has been described as being inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan\, to whom he was compared in his early years in Austin. He still receives comparisons to Vaughan because he plays the guitar with a similar “power and finesse”. The Fender (company)recently presented him with a surf green copy of the 1959 Fender Stratocaster that he uses as his main guitar. He has also cited David Gilmour\, Eric Clapton\, Jimi Hendrix\, and Gary Clark Jr.as inspirations. HuffPostcontributor Ashley Jude Collie has described Tessmer’s “soul-chedelic” style as “Tessmer’s own cocktail of R&B\, soul and blues rock”.And\, he has been collaborating with Nancy Wilson of Heart.See him here folks. Please bring cash money for the hat. We ask for a minimum $6 cover per adult listener. All money collected goes to the artist. Please give generously to the artists who give to us\, all year round.
