SUMMARY:35th Rastaversary! Reggae Fest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Dred I Dread \nDred I Dread\, widely recognized as the “Minneapolis Reggae Legends\,” is a Minneapolis\, Minnesota–based roots reggae band delivering powerful messages of love\, unity\, and social justice. Formed in 1998\, the band quickly made its mark\, earning “Best Local Reggae Band” by City Pages Magazine in 1999 and later “Best Reggae Band in Minnesota” by the Minnesota Music Academy in 2000 and 2001. \nThe band features a diverse and international lineup of talented musicians from Jamaica\, New Orleans\, Minnesota\, and Türkiye. This rich cultural heritage is deeply reflected in their sound—blending authentic Jamaican reggae traditions with influences from jazz\, blues\, and world music to create a style that is both timeless and contemporary. \nDred I Dread released their debut album Listen to the Revolution in March 1999\, produced by renowned reggae keyboardist Tony “Asher” Brissett\, a former member of Black Uhuru. Over the years\, the band has shared stages with internationally acclaimed artists such as Chronixx\, The Wailers\, Yellowman\, Israel Vibration\, The Meditations\, De La Soul\, Jimmy Cliff\, Sister Carol\, Third World\, Wailing Souls\, and Collie Buddz. Guitarist Serdar G\, originally from Ankara\, Türkiye\, brings a unique global perspective\, blending reggae with elements of jazz\, blues\, calypso\, and even Turkish music. \nBacking the front line is a tight\, dynamic rhythm section featuring Paul Kammeyer on bass\, Adam Cole on drums\, and Alex Cole (Cole Brothers/Mindsettaz) on keyboards. Together\, they create a deep\, groove-driven foundation that defines the band’s signature sound and delivers a rich\, immersive live experience. \nRooted in the influence of reggae greats such as Dennis Brown\, Gregory Isaacs\, Peter Tosh\, Aswad\, and Black Uhuru\, Dred I Dread continues to carry the torch of conscious reggae music forward. With over two decades of experience\, the band remains committed to uplifting communities and bringing positive vibrations to audiences around the world. \nTUGG\nThese artists do an amazing job channeling tropical grooves and breezy melodies and they are a top draw in the Midwest and beyond. TUGG boasts an impressive resume of rubbing shoulders with reggae heavyweights. From shows with Ziggy Marley\, Barrington Levy and Slightly Stoopid to Tours with The Wailers\, The Dirty Heads\, and PASSAFIRE… TUGG continues to prove why they’re a star of the alternative reggae/ska scene. All of the band’s last 5 releases have debuted in the Top 50 of the iTunes Reggae Chart. Their EP “Home Brew” climbed all the way to #2 and spent 3 weeks in the Hot 100 iTunes Reggae Album Chart. He uses a custom built drum set\, as well as an array of fully intuitive effect pedals complete with: loopers\, bass splits\, synthesizers\, etc. He records the rhythm (guitar and bass) on the spot\, and layers over it live with drums while singing and soloing on his guitar simultaneously. \n\nBuy Your Tickets Online Now!Tickets\n$20 advance/$25 day of show and are currently limited to 750. SUMMARY:Lojo Russo
DESCRIPTION:Lojo Russo has been making music along the ‘Big Muddy’ for most of her life.Self-taught on guitar and voice Russo cut her musical teeth in different bands in the Twin Cities (MN) playing guitar\, bass and mandolin in all sots of folk\, funk\, jazz\, jam\, Irish and indie bands. The range of genres gave her a broader understanding of the music she played and a deeper understanding of the music she wanted to create. Those early years earned Russo a nomination for a “Mammy” (MN Music Award) for “Best Folk Artist” and the title of “Best Female Artist” from MN Women’s Press. To look at her history it’s no wonder Russo likes to keep the music flowing along wherever it takes her. Russo’s musical style is as varied and unexpected as the river she calls home. One moment she’s laying down a furious rhythm on the guitar punctuated with a wailing vocal the next we’re floating along carried by intricate finger-picking\, her voice as intense and haunting as her lyrics.Russo has defined and refined her writing and music into her own free-spirited blend of rhythm & roots. The hat will be passed. We ask for a minimum of $5 per adult listener for this fantastic artist.

SUMMARY:Them Coulee Boys with Ladybird
DESCRIPTION:Kick off the summer in style with TCB and Ladybird at The Trempealeau Hotel.Them Coulee Boys make their annual Trempealeau pilgrimage. Their latest album “No Fun in the Chrysalis” was recorded in Eau Claire with Grammy winner Brian Joseph. Singles “I Am Not Sad” and “Up Close” are receiving critical praise\, and build on the growing repertoire of “hits” to watch for at the Boys’ live shows. With an expanding catalogue\, expect a “no repeats” two nights of fun at one of the spots where their story begins. They will be joined by Rochester’s Clay Fulton & the Lost 40 on Friday night and Milwaukee’s Ladybird on Saturday night.About LadybirdLadybird has built a story of grit and determination since its inception in 2021. They’ve toured the country and played some good shows and some really not good shows. They’ve connected with their hometown in such a way that they’ve played some of the city’s most historic and treasured venues. As the band has evolved\, the goals have stayed the same: make good records to be proud of and that would make the place you come from proud\, get in the van and play those songs to as many people who will listen\, and remain grateful for the opportunity. The Ladybird universe is a family affair\, albeit a drunken backyard extended family reunion type of family affair. The drinks are cold\, and everyone’s got a story to tell. Pull up a chair and listen in.The saying goes that on every block in the Midwest\, there’s one bar and one church. If you tie one on too tight\, you don’t have far to go to find a place that’s supposed to forgive you for all your sinning. The songs of Milwaukee-based Ladybird live somewhere on that block—on the long\, cold walk between the high times at the tavern with your friends and the shadow of the steeple that reminds you of tomorrow’s responsibilities and yesterday’s mistakes. The band’s sophomore album\, Clementine\, was released in October.Ladybird’s songs have a sense of casual comfort to them. Everyone you’ve ever met is inside these songs\, though the names and the places change—the feeling they evoke is familiar. The details may be specific to the songwriter\, but there’s a universal connectivity. What stands out in the canon of the songs that make up Clementine is the kindness to the characters. There’s a forgiveness and a grace that comes from a place of experience. It’s the same grace granted with the silent smile from a grandparent or an uncle when you’re trying to convince them you’ve got it all figured out. They know that you don’t\, and only they know how tough it gets when you figure that out\, too—but you know they’ll be there for you the next time.TicketsOnline & day-of only: Tickets are $20 pre-sale and $25 day of show. SUMMARY:Joe & Vicki Price
DESCRIPTION:A righteous\, joyful\, foot-stomping jubilee\, Joe & Vicki Price catapult the blues. A bit rough & tons of fun.Joe grew up in blue collar Waterloo\, Iowa. Seeking out the sounds of Black musical voices he was drawn to the Blues. Hearing Earl Hooker perform at a local record store slide guitar became his weapon of choice. He met Vicki in a bar in Waukon\, Iowa. She had grown up in the church singing duets with her sister. At the time she met Joe she was playing guitar and performing locally. They exchanged tunes that night and began their life long musical journey.\nThey have spent a lifetime touring\, living most of their married life on the road. They have shared the stage with John Lee Hooker\, Willie Dixon\, Honey Boy Edwards and many more. They have been regular performers at Buddy Guy’s Legends. Weather playing a bar\, a concert stage or a festival their warmth and humor draw the audience in to make everyone feel like they’re at a party with all their best friends.\nIowa blues legends Joe and Vicki Price sound like two guitars being played by a single\, unified mind – with tone that would make Hound Dog Taylor blush. Joe stomps and slides his feet around with all the irresistible rhythms that drive the guitar groove. Serving up blues based roots music\, they are one of those little treasures we’ve been hiding out here in the heartland waiting for the rest of you to catch up with what people with the blues in Iowa can deliver. A really great\, heartfelt diversion from the mainstream their live show is an absolute joy to behold.\nCome join the party. They are more fun than baby goats. The hat will be passed. We ask for $7 per adult listener. The show will be outside\, weather permitting.

SUMMARY:Dylan Harris & Good Company
DESCRIPTION:In Wisconsin’s Kickapoo Valley where he makes his home\, sometimes people smile and say that Dylan Harris is the hardest working man in show business. That might be a stretch\, but Marty Cina still calls him “the Ed Sullivan of the Driftless”. He’s a singing-guitarist and songwriter who likes to whistle while he works and he has a knack for delivering the music of others in his own recognizable voice. Dylan is well loved for hosting a circuit of open mics & jam sessions that are staples for the music community in the central Driftless. He has released four studio albums as Dylan Harris & Good Company\, with a live album on the way THIS year. All of that to say…cha cha cha! And let the good times roll!\nPlease bring cash for the hat to keep these guys doing what they are doing.

SUMMARY:Luray
DESCRIPTION:Luray creates strange and lovely bedfellows of sound – banjo layered over ambient sounds make up this once bluegrass-picking songwriter’s approach to making music. Luray’s debut album ‘The Wilder’ was called “beautifully lush” by Bob Boilen of NPR.’The Wilder’ and sophomore album\, ‘Dig’ was produced by brother\, Sean Carey (S.Carey). ‘Dig’ was released on 6131 Records in 2019 and was featured on the New York Times New Music Playlist. “My songs tell me what’s going on with me\, like my unconscious trying to get my attention\,” says Carey. Although she called Richmond\, Virginia home for a number of years\, Luray debuted as a band in Washington\, DC in 2012. Her music also has an inescapable imprint of her Wisconsin upbringing and collaboration with brothers\, Sean and Colin. Now\, a mother of two\, Shannon has returned home to Wisconsin\, and performs with husband\, Scott Burton and the occasional brother. This is their first time to The Hotel. Let’s show them some extra love.

SUMMARY:Max & the Fellow Travelers
DESCRIPTION:There’s a type of band that doesn’t just play songs — they collect them\, test-drive them\, stretch them\, condense them\, and send them back out however they’re meant to be. Max & The Fellow Travelers belong in that category. At the heart of it all is Max: armed with a six-string guitar\, a harmonica rack\, and a catalog of songs that feel lived-in – whether it’s a front porch blues or a sprawling piece of electric alchemy.Around Niemann’s songs\, the band builds a sound that can lean rustic or exploratory. Organ lines shimmer\, fiddle and pedal steel soar over guitars braided together in ragged\, interlockingpatterns just above a rhythm section that might swing\, shuffle\, or hit a wide-open drive. There’san emphasis on feel over flash\, and while any member might occasionally hit the gas\, thecollective momentum is held above all.Niemann’s lyrics hold tight to a timeless human experience— broken-down characters\, doubts\,responsibilities— but they’re carried by dynamic arrangements. Old-time chord changes collidewith art rock tension; a lone fiddle drifts over krautrock-inspired rhythms. It’s music that honorsthe lineage of American roots while insisting that there’s more roads for it to wander down. The Fellow Travelers aren’t trying to revive anything\, they’d rather chase the same spirit that animated their mentors – drawing from deep wells and crossing borders in the meantime. This show is part of a larger Midwest tour\, that comes ahead of their debut full-length album\, set to be released later this year. Their most recent release\, The Fellow Travelers\, was previously named one the Top Five Milwaukee EPs of 2024 by Milwaukee Record and one of the top releases of the month by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.\nSince that release\, we’ve toured across the Midwest\, Southeast and PNW\, played Mile of Music Festival\, and have shared stages with established national and regional touring acts\, including Jeffrey Lewis\, A. Savage (Parquet Courts)\, Them Coulee Boys\, Dusk\, Ike Reilly\, Brennan Wedl and Brett Newski. This tour will take us across the Upper Midwest\, including shows in Milwaukee\, Madison\, Eau Claire\, Minneapolis\, Duluth\, Viroqua\, Dubuque\, Chicago and TREMPEALEAU! We ask for a minimum of $5 per adult listener. All money goes to the artists. Your support of live music keeps it flowing here. Thank you.

There will be occasional guests (Mikkel Beckmen on the 12th and Kelley Smith on the 19th) and\, if the spring weather is inviting\, the music will move out to the deck. This is a “pass the hat” event\, a minimum of $6 a person is requested.\nMike Munson (Winona\, MN) is a renowned guitarist with an unmistakable sound. His prolific catalogue of original songs blends elements of indie folk\, roots\, jazz and improvised music. He has warmed the stage for legends like Mavis Staples\, traveled the country with Grammy nominee Jimmy “Duck” Holmes and been invited to perform at multiple international festivals. Munson’s long career as a solo touring musician has garnered a devoted fan base and a reputable place within the bustling Minnesota music scene.\nMunson’s song-writing leaves much to interpretation while his voicing on the guitar is distinctly recognizable after decades of pursuit of the perfect tone. He has been mentioned in reputable publications including Smithsonian\, Guitar Player and No Depression. His recordings are in regular rotation at both urban and rural radio stations throughout the region. He has also been invited to appear at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival\, the Montreal International Jazz Festival\, and the Waterfront Blues Festival\, proving that he belongs in multiple genres at an elite level.\nIn addition to a robust solo career\, the Mike Munson Trio is an incomparable rhythm section of three where Munson is joined by Nick Salisbury on bass and Lars-Erik Larson on drums. Together they explore Munson’s newest original compositions\, transportive jazz-like instrumentals and tragic Americana ballads\, exhibiting a symmetry that is easy on the ears. The group relishes live performance where the nightly set list will include familiar songs encountered from a new angle\, expanding or contracting arrangements depending on the inclination of the players. The Trio’s first full length album “Sometimes\, Not Always” is due out on Liatris Records in spring of 2026.\nIn 2024 Munson released his tenth full-length album “Perihelion Day” (Liatris Records). Using the moniker upup/OVER\, he continued to expand his creative playing field with this acoustic\, instrumental record. Inspired by time and space and the distance between humans and nature\, upup/OVER is an exploration of big issues through the lens of American primitive guitar. From galleries to house concerts to churches\, this sparse\, ambient music has mesmerized and entranced audiences.\nThe easily recognizable voice that Munson has developed can be traced back to the early years of his career when he had the privilege of recording the album “Rose Hill” at the Blue Front Cafe in Bentonia\, Mississippi. He had thrived under the direct and poignant mentorship of Jimmy “Duck” Holmes\, who invited him to join Blue Front Records. Having come face to face with the living history of blues music\, Munson’s sound is marked by a reverence for this historic southern art form\, which is laden with intricate finger picking and hypnotic rhythms. While no longer fitting squarely in the blues genre\, his regard for his teachers and their guidance continues to drive Munson’s many artistic pursuits.

SUMMARY:Marques Morel
DESCRIPTION:Marques Morel is an American songwriter/story-teller\, midwestern-twanger/folksinger\, guitar-thumper/harmonica wailer\, street-performer/wandering troubadour\, steadfast woodcutter/migrant worker\, a father\, a son\, and a friend to all.“Taking his cue from the likes of Townes Van Zandt\, Woody Guthrie\, Hank Williams\, and any number of other tattered troubadours\, (Marques Morel) sounds like a cross between Johnny Cash\, Bob Seger\, and the late John Stewart (solo\, The Kingston Trio) reciting ragged tales of the American West and its once-former glories\,” writes Lee Zimmerman of The Alternate Root.Originally from the Illinois corn country\, he has performed just about anywhere that anybody would listen: big city street corners around the world\, county fairs\, folk festivals\, hole in the wall taverns/divebars/honky tonks\, cabin porches\, backyard barbeques\, listening rooms\, theatres large and small\, and beside many campfires and woodstoves amongst the ghosts of his songwriter heroes.Marques has had the honor of sharing stages with some of the great songsters of our time- Charlie Parr\, Arlo McKinley\, Joe Pug\, Willy Tea Taylor\, Riley Downing\, Billy Don Burns\, Pokey LaFarge\, and Chicago Farmer to name a few of his favorites.Marques has released five original albums to date: “Live and Raw in Rockford” (2013) and “Searching for America” (2014) were recorded bare bones with passion before his hiatus from solo work for about 6 years. In 2021 Morel returned to the studio for “Trail of The Ghost” and in 2022 he released his first full band record- “Wind and Rain.”In June of 2024 Morel released “Tales and Tellings\,” his first work to earn widespread critical acclaim. “Tales and Tellings” was recorded at Bomb Shelter studio in Nashville\, TN and produced by Andrija Tokic (producer of The Deslondes\, John R. Miller\, Ian Noe\, Luke Bell\, etc.). In response to the record\, NO DEPRESSION stated- “There’s no filler here. Every song on ‘Tales and Tellings’ is packed with plenty of ear candy\, revealing Morel’s wry wit that never turns smarmy. It’s delivered from the heart\, dusty and roadworn\, but undaunted.”Known for his intense and infectious energy on stage and his gritty and honest songwriting and delivery\, Marques Morel has been described by his fans as “raw and rustic” and “guts on the floor\,” sometimes abandoning the mic and guitar cable to march into the crowd and lead a raucous bar or a sterile listening room into a grand finale of singalongs and stompalongs. He currently plays around 150 shows a year and will be found performing either as a one man show accompanied by his old guitar\, harmonica on the rack\, and makeshift kick drum\, or with his dynamic and spirited band\, The Midnight Wind.We ask for a minimum of $6 per adult listener for the artists-the price of a pint.
