SUMMARY:Switchback
DESCRIPTION:Switchback is an American music duo consisting of Brian FitzGerald and Martin McCormack. They play a mix of bluegrass\, Americana\, and traditional Celtic music. Beyond that\, they tell some fabulous stories-some may be true.In 1986\, FitzGerald was a mandolin student of Jethro Burns and had been touring with Clifton Chenier when he met McCormack. McCormack was an award-winning voice student of Whelma Oshiem at the American Conservatory of Chicago\, and a member of the Star Search band Beyond Blue. They were chosen by County Kerry composer and concertina master Terrence ‘Cuz’ Teahan to join his traditional Irish group. They were taught the old country techniques of Irish musical entertainment\, making them one of the last generations to be directly influenced by a master of this genre. The duo toured\, opening for such acts as The Moody Blues\, Leon Russell\, Lee Greenwood and John Hartford.FitzGerald and McCormack did not forget their Irish roots\, and continued to perform at concerts and festivals. Playing over 200 engagements a year\, they performed at festivals from Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Nova Scotia to the Summer Celebration in Michigan. Switchback has shared the stage with such notable Celtic musicians as Cherish the Ladies\, Gaelic Storm\, Liz Carroll\, and John Williams. They tour Ireland each year\, and have played at the pub in Westport\, County Mayo\, owned by The Chieftains’ Matt Malloy. They have performed at the Star Plaza Theater in Merrillville\, Indiana\, and in the intimate and famous Bluebird Café in Nashville.Switchback’s music is frequently played on radio stations in Ireland\, and can be seen on Public Broadcasting Television stations throughout the United States.Catch them August 2nd from 1-4. We ask for a minimum of $6 per adult listener. All money collected goes to these fine gentlemen.

SUMMARY:Jeff Cramer & Jack Gregori
DESCRIPTION:Since the release of his 2019 album Northern 45\, Jeff Cramer has been digging into the nooks and crannies of modern folk\, establishing himself as a distinctive interrogator of what it means to call America home. A self-described Midwest runaway\, his passion for the American landscape reveals itself not only in his music but in his lifelong advocacy for clean energy. In August 2024\, Jeff released Forever Morning with acclaimed producer Andrew Berlin (Gregory Alan Isakov’s Evening Machines) — a sprawling road-trip through homelands real and imagined\, mixing soft-thrumming acoustics and sunny drumbeats with a healthy dose of self-exploration. A month later\, he and a magically slapdash band recorded Live at the Bluebird\, a spur-of-the-moment celebration of music he’d spent the better part of a decade crafting with meticulous care. Stripped down and revved up\, Cramer combs through the storied landscape of his folk forefathers to make music that’s both homage and evolution. He’s currently at work on a new record\, and tours when his day job lets him\, or when he can live without the sleep.Jack Gregori brandishes his deep baritone voice and black Stetson from local blues bars in Washington\, DC to Hollywood\, giving audiences a rare opportunity to practice a rebel yell and test out their best heel-toe moves. Raised in Plymouth\, New Hampshire\, on early piano and saxophone lessons and a childhood diet of The Beatles\, Howlin’ Wolf\, and The Rolling Stones\, Jack found his way to country music only after a winding path through three states\, a law degree\, and a boom-to-bust mortgage career — eventually landing in DC\, where his honky-tonk band\, Human Country Jukebox\, built a loyal following through a multi-year residency at the legendary Madam’s Organ. That local buzz turned national when he advanced on NBC’s The Voice\, drawing praise from Grammy-nominated coach Ellie Goulding (“Your voice is incredibly deep and powerful”). The Washingtonian and Washington City Paper have both spotlighted his rise\, and the résumé backs it up: over 500 shows in just the past few years\, a 2014 debut album\, performances at nearly every major DC venue from the Black Cat to The Hamilton\, and shared stages with Nashville mainstays like Jim Lauderdale — all delivered with the kind of lived-in perspective that gives real weight to songs about heartbreak and gratitude alike. The hat will be passed. Please be generous. Thank you for your support of live music and our staff and venue. We’re all in this together. Enjoy!

It will be a treat to share the stage with these two. ” Hope to see some old friends and meet some new ones too.James “Mudkat” Grant began listening to rock n roll\, classical\, and country music at an early age. He joined his first band in high school after seeing the Beatles on TV\, extending it through college years playing hundreds and hundreds of gigs. Having the opportunity to open for the Flying Burrito Brothers in May\, 1970\, changed their repertoire and musical direction. The band\, now called North Country\, moved to Denver\, where they opened for the comedian Steve Martin\, but within a year the band had broken up\, so Grant moved into doing solo work with vocal\, guitar and harmonica.Recording his first CD in ’95\, “Not the Only World”\, which was nominated for a Minnesota Music Award\, James continued writing and performing in the upper midwest with occasional forays with other musicians. “This Town”\, an EP\, with This Town \, the title cut\, Southern View\, Distant Light\, and Something New\, was recorded in 2013\, with other songs waiting for studio production.James Grant has been heavily influenced in his writing style by Sting\, Neil Young\, Dylan\, James Taylor and others\, along with environmental and social justice issues. His passion for writing and performing\, with guitar and vocal study\, has continued to this day. This very early member of the Organic Music Cooperative delivers reflective originals and digs deep for obscure tracks that need to be shared and brought back to life.Hans Reimer was born right here in Trempealeau county\, was homeschooled and started playing music at a very young age. The family band began first with his parents then later with his siblings. They even backpacked through Europe\, playing music and writing songs for two months. Now\, 20 years later he is still writing songs and playing music. ‘I love music. I love life\, I love jamming and connecting with people through music. SUMMARY:Marques Morel
DESCRIPTION:Marques Morel is an American songwriter/story-teller\, midwestern-twanger/folksinger\, guitar-thumper/harmonica wailer\, street-performer/wandering troubadour\, steadfast woodcutter/migrant worker\, a father\, a son\, and a friend to all.“Taking his cue from the likes of Townes Van Zandt\, Woody Guthrie\, Hank Williams\, and any number of other tattered troubadours\, (Marques Morel) sounds like a cross between Johnny Cash\, Bob Seger\, and the late John Stewart (solo\, The Kingston Trio) reciting ragged tales of the American West and its once-former glories\,” writes Lee Zimmerman of The Alternate Root.Originally from the Illinois corn country\, he has performed just about anywhere that anybody would listen: big city street corners around the world\, county fairs\, folk festivals\, hole in the wall taverns/divebars/honky tonks\, cabin porches\, backyard barbeques\, listening rooms\, theatres large and small\, and beside many campfires and woodstoves amongst the ghosts of his songwriter heroes.Marques has had the honor of sharing stages with some of the great songsters of our time- Charlie Parr\, Arlo McKinley\, Joe Pug\, Willy Tea Taylor\, Riley Downing\, Billy Don Burns\, Pokey LaFarge\, and Chicago Farmer to name a few of his favorites.Marques has released five original albums to date: “Live and Raw in Rockford” (2013) and “Searching for America” (2014) were recorded bare bones with passion before his hiatus from solo work for about 6 years. In 2021 Morel returned to the studio for “Trail of The Ghost” and in 2022 he released his first full band record- “Wind and Rain.”In June of 2024 Morel released “Tales and Tellings\,” his first work to earn widespread critical acclaim. “Tales and Tellings” was recorded at Bomb Shelter studio in Nashville\, TN and produced by Andrija Tokic (producer of The Deslondes\, John R. Miller\, Ian Noe\, Luke Bell\, etc.). In response to the record\, NO DEPRESSION stated- “There’s no filler here. Every song on ‘Tales and Tellings’ is packed with plenty of ear candy\, revealing Morel’s wry wit that never turns smarmy. It’s delivered from the heart\, dusty and roadworn\, but undaunted.”Known for his intense and infectious energy on stage and his gritty and honest songwriting and delivery\, Marques Morel has been described by his fans as “raw and rustic” and “guts on the floor\,” sometimes abandoning the mic and guitar cable to march into the crowd and lead a raucous bar or a sterile listening room into a grand finale of singalongs and stompalongs. He currently plays around 150 shows a year and will be found performing either as a one man show accompanied by his old guitar\, harmonica on the rack\, and makeshift kick drum\, or with his dynamic and spirited band\, The Midnight Wind.We ask for a minimum of $6 per adult listener for the artists-the price of a pint.First two photos by Cozette Morel. Third photo stamped by the photographer.

SUMMARY:The People Brothers Band
DESCRIPTION:Have you experienced a People Brothers Show? The energy and music from these beautiful folks and their friends is lightening in a bottle. They share it. Add to this The Getaway and you have yourself a great night of music and vibes.Friday July 3rd\, 7pm – Rain or Shine$12 advance @ The Hotel (save fees) or Eventbrite–or day of show for $20 at the gate. Please\, to avoid disappointment\, do not buy tickets from someone you do not know or do not have connections with.We are only releasing 500 tickets for advance sale.Show the band appreciation with your best dance moves and most colorful\, freaky threads. Let the music take you!\nMore about People Brothers from their friend\, Joy Miller:\nDrawing from the bands musically diverse influences\, you’ll hear everything from The Tedeschi Trucks Band\, Grateful Dead\, Phish and Whitney Houston\, to Gregg Allman & The Band in their original music.\nCoupled with a stage presence like Tina Turner\, the ensemble displays genre-bending versatility and mesmerizing synchronicity during their energetic live shows.\nTheir lyrical setlist transports listeners through the full spectrum of emotions and the crowd mirrors an ever-changing portrait of expression; bright smiles\, animated stomping\, choral shouting\, and wiping away a rolling tear before anyone sees.\nTheir infectious stage presence is punctuated with heartfelt words of encouragement from lead vocalist\, Teresa Marie\, who emphasizes their overarching message of love and positivity. The band that surrounds her\, frames her message\, like a psychedelic kaleidoscope painting full of color\, straight out of the 70’s.\nThe rotating cast of this 8-piece rock band has been on the road for 15 years\, their songs rival the stories of their predecessors like Fleetwood Mac with stories of love\, loss\, passion\, divorce\, death\, sobriety\, sex\, drugs\, and rock n roll. At a People Brothers Band show\, you’ll experience it all.\nThe vision of the People Brothers Band has resonated with the Midwest music scene where they perform their passion for a growing fanbase. The group has received numerous musical awards over the last decade in a range of categories from Artist\, Album\, and Song of the Year to accolades for contributions to Pop\, R&B\, Latin\, Soul\, and Blues music.\nThe PBB vision extends beyond stages and studios to supporting their community and raising over $100\,000 for various causes including housing and medical needs. They also own Driftless Music Gardens natural amphitheater where they host numerous music festivals & events in the gorgeous rolling hills of Yuba\, Wisconsin.\nThese friends lift their voices\, keys\, strings\, horns\, and drumsticks in love to create music on a higher vibration which transcends the auditory experience to rejuvenate the soul.\nYou will remember where you were the first time you heard your favorite PBB song. You will recall how you felt. You will clamor for an encore\, and you won’t be disappointed.\nYou will be moved\, as if magnetically\, to the front row\, where the sensation of the sun will shimmer\, inviting you to shine electric love\, positivity\, friendship\, and resiliency in your own stratosphere\, to your people\, to your brothers\, from their band.\nAbout the OpenerIt’s unclear whether The Getaway is robbing a bank\, or going on vacation\, but sunglasses are involved either way. Their original music is somewhere beyond psychedelic funk-pop\, or electro synthwave\, digging a deep new groove for “Upper Mississippi Valley Rock and Roll”. When class and grime collide\, it’s a little unsettling\, but wildly satisfying…“sparkles\, distortion\, and sequins.”The Getaway includes vocalist Jasmine AH\, guitarist Bill Fiorella\, bassist and synthmaster Shane Kouba\, percussionist Clovis Larson\, keyboardist and back-up vocalist Katie Getz\, and\, if you’re lucky\, hype-man\, Sam Hudnall. The Getaway released their debut album\, self-titled\, “The Getaway\,” in July 2024. They continue to expand their library of original sounds and songs. Their eagerly awaited sophomore album “Softness Winning” came out this spring.\n\nBuy Your People Brothers Band Online

SUMMARY:Eli Gardiner
DESCRIPTION:Soulful\, weathered Americana for fans of Jason Isbell\, John Moreland & Springsteen’s Nebraska side. Honest songs\, close up.Eli Gardiner writes songs that feel weathered\, human\, and wide open — the kind of Americana that carries the dust of old roads\, the ache of real life\, and the quiet hope that keeps people moving.Born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and now based in Minneapolis\, Gardiner blends Americana\, heartland rock\, and folk into songs that are intimate\, soulful\, and deeply rooted in story. His music has drawn comparisons to the emotional grit of John Moreland\, Jason Isbell\, and Chris Knight\, while still carving out a voice that is unmistakably his own.Gardiner’s latest EP\, Sliver\, released in March 2026\, follows his haunting 2023 album Transient — a hushed\, home-recorded collection inspired in part by the stark storytelling of Springsteen’s Nebraska. His songs move between the personal and the political\, the lonely and the communal\, always circling back to what it means to be human\, to endure\, and to keep reaching for connection.Music in Minnesota called him “relatable\, soulful\, and honest\,” while Americana UK praised his voice as “full of character and soul.” Whether solo\, acoustic\, or backed by a full band\, Eli Gardiner brings the kind of songwriting that belongs in a listening room — raw enough to feel immediate\, crafted enough to stay with you long after the last note fades.

SUMMARY:Lojo Russo
DESCRIPTION:Lojo Russo has been making music along the ‘Big Muddy’ for most of her life.Self-taught on guitar and voice Russo cut her musical teeth in different bands in the Twin Cities (MN) playing guitar\, bass and mandolin in all sots of folk\, funk\, jazz\, jam\, Irish and indie bands. The range of genres gave her a broader understanding of the music she played and a deeper understanding of the music she wanted to create. Those early years earned Russo a nomination for a “Mammy” (MN Music Award) for “Best Folk Artist” and the title of “Best Female Artist” from MN Women’s Press. To look at her history it’s no wonder Russo likes to keep the music flowing along wherever it takes her. Russo’s musical style is as varied and unexpected as the river she calls home. One moment she’s laying down a furious rhythm on the guitar punctuated with a wailing vocal the next we’re floating along carried by intricate finger-picking\, her voice as intense and haunting as her lyrics.Russo has defined and refined her writing and music into her own free-spirited blend of rhythm & roots. The hat will be passed. We ask for a minimum of $5 per adult listener for this fantastic artist.

They’ve toured the country and played some good shows and some really not good shows. They’ve connected with their hometown in such a way that they’ve played some of the city’s most historic and treasured venues. As the band has evolved\, the goals have stayed the same: make good records to be proud of and that would make the place you come from proud\, get in the van and play those songs to as many people who will listen\, and remain grateful for the opportunity. The Ladybird universe is a family affair\, albeit a drunken backyard extended family reunion type of family affair. The drinks are cold\, and everyone’s got a story to tell. Pull up a chair and listen in.The saying goes that on every block in the Midwest\, there’s one bar and one church. If you tie one on too tight\, you don’t have far to go to find a place that’s supposed to forgive you for all your sinning. The songs of Milwaukee-based Ladybird live somewhere on that block—on the long\, cold walk between the high times at the tavern with your friends and the shadow of the steeple that reminds you of tomorrow’s responsibilities and yesterday’s mistakes. The band’s sophomore album\, Clementine\, was released in October.Ladybird’s songs have a sense of casual comfort to them. Everyone you’ve ever met is inside these songs\, though the names and the places change—the feeling they evoke is familiar. The details may be specific to the songwriter\, but there’s a universal connectivity. What stands out in the canon of the songs that make up Clementine is the kindness to the characters. There’s a forgiveness and a grace that comes from a place of experience. It’s the same grace granted with the silent smile from a grandparent or an uncle when you’re trying to convince them you’ve got it all figured out. They know that you don’t\, and only they know how tough it gets when you figure that out\, too—but you know they’ll be there for you the next time.TicketsOnline & day-of only: Tickets are $20 pre-sale and $25 day of show. Pat is a husband\, teacher\, band-leader\, and most recently\, a recording artist successfully releasing his debut album\, Trials & Errors. Inspired by his time as a green and eager musician in western North Carolina\, the album blends classic honky-tonk sounds with bluegrass in an earnest stamp on his home’s musical tradition. His live shows are honest and feel more like a family reunion\, where he is often joined by Claire\, Michael\, and his father\, Rob\, on harmonica.
