DESCRIPTION:Join local readers for a night out close to home. It’s the third SFA of the season. We’d like to welcome and thank Meghan\, the ‘new’ library director at The Trempealeau Library for putting thistogether\, choosing the topics and readers. Our very own Ty Webster will be your host. The theme “Celebrating Books: Banned or Not” advocates for the freedom to read. By celebrating both banned and widely accepted books\, this theme encourages open dialogue about censorship\, the value of storytelling\, and the role of literature in society. It invites readers to reflect on the power of books to inspire change and promote understanding.Up to six readers choose an excerpt related to the theme to read out loud for approximately 10 minutes. Get exposed to some new reads or maybe an old favorite needs revisiting. We ask for quiet during the readings\, but you do not need to raise your hand to take a beverage or bathroom break. Come celebrate literacy!

SUMMARY:Davey & the Midnights
DESCRIPTION:Pop-Up Show 6-9 tomorrow (Thursday) ‘Unconventional cosmic country and boogie band’-Davey and the Midnights formed on the westside of Los Angeles\, California in 2017. The group immediately set out to establish themselves as one of the hardest working Americana bands in the country. For the next seven years they toured extensively throughout the United States performing at venues including Pappy & Harriet’s (CA)\, The Lonesome Rose (TX)\, Woodlands Tavern (OH)\, Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Park (IN)\, Southgate House Revival (KY)\, Empty Glass (WV)\, Dee’s Lounge (TN). In the fall of 2023 the band played their first European dates\, embarking on a multi-week tour in both France and Germany. \nThe Midnights have shared the stage with acts such as Arlo McKinley\, Dale Watson\, Nikki Lane\, the Cordovas\, Cristina Vane\, Chris Pierce\, Rob Leines\, DeeOhGee\, and the Deltaz. Their emotionally charged\, high energy performances are not to be missed. \nLead singer\, keyboardist\, and principal songwriter Davey Allen has also toured as a solo artist and as keyboardist for rock hall of famer Eric Burdon (who has performed here). In addition\, he has toured as a member of the San Francisco rock group The Stone Foxes. Davey is an advocate of many social causes and has previously donated a portion of his album sales to the Dolores Huerta Foundation and the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Center. \nThank you to Matt Sayles of Driftless Revelers for introducing these folks to The Hotel. We ask that you bring a minimum of $6 cash cover charge per adult listener. This is a unique opportunity! Come listen.
