Trempealeau songwriter Johnsmith is joined by his long time sidekick Dan Sebranek and daughter Elisi Smith-Waller at the Trempealeau Hotel from 5pm, Sunday March 3 for a Listening Session. They will lift you out of your winter blahs and have you contemplating life’s journey in an intimate setting, surrounded by friendly folks with the frozen Mississippi as the backdrop.

Only 45 tickets will be sold through Eventbrite only and will sell out.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

Wisconsin songwriter Johnsmith has won several awards including the Kerrville TX New Folk and Great Lakes Songwriting Contests. He teaches songwriting at festivals, song camps, and Big Sur CA’s Esalen Institute. He’s been featured on the elite NPR program ‘New Dimensions’. He is the founder of Inishfree Irish musical tours and also leads musical rafting trips on the Salmon River in Idaho.

Dan Sebranek is a musician’s musician and renowned singer/songwriter who has shared the stage with Michael Martin Murphey, Hans Mayer, Bill Miller, John Prine, Perry Jordan (Heartsfield) along with Pure Prairie League. He is an exceptional flatpicker in all genres and a great lead and harmony singer. He and Jonsmith have been playing and singing together for 37 years. Dan also plays solo gigs and duo shows with his wife Mary Cortesi.

Also joining John and Dan will be John’s daughter Elisi Smith-Waller of Crooked Willow notoriety. A superb singer and clawhammer 5 string banjo player, she’s been an active part of Great River Folk Festival, Boats and Bluegrass, Riverfest, Midwest Music Festival and serves on the Larryfest board.

With John and Dan’s time playing together and Elisi’s blood connection to John, together they create magical harmonies only time and family can produce.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Tickets are $25 and limited to 45 listeners through Eventbrite only. ALL admission money goes to the artists. We respectfully ask that conversation be kept to a minimum during the performance.

There will be two fifty minute sets with a 15-20 minute intermission.

Your ticket ensures that you have a seat in the performance space for the occasion.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Equidistant from Winona and LaCrosse, we sit right on the river and offer stunning views, responsibly sourced food and comfortable lodging. Call 608 534 6898 to reserve for a room or food.

Food will be available for purchase from noon until 7pm.  Pizza, burgers, appetizers, soup, a vegan/gf option and dessert along with a wide variety of beverages, are offered. No outside food or beverage is allowed, ever. The bar will be open for one hour after the performance ends.

No hard copy tickets will be issued.  Your name will be on a list at the entrance if you purchased. You may claim seats from 4pm.
