The Substitutes (formerly The Subs) have been substitute teachers and are early Organic Music Cooperative members. Gregg Hilker (ukulele, banjo, guitar and other things string), Kris Risch (guitar), Lisa Risch (keyboard, tambourine) and Phil Gilbert (all things percussion) find great joy in taking their listeners along for a good time. There’ll be songs you know, songs you never expected and a smattering of originals as well as local artist covers. It’s obvious they feed off each other’s energy and delight in entertaining others. Each of them provides vocals and their own favorite tunes from Cars to Foucault, Go-Go’s to Zevon and John Smith to Eddie Allen. The hat will be passed. Please bring cash $$. We ask for a minimum of $5 per adult listener.
